Product Safety, Responsible Use & Terms
At GR8-EV, safety is engineered into every electric vehicle, golf cart, e-bike, scooter, and power pack we assemble and supply. While we strictly ensure our products are safe, reliable, and compliant, we cannot monitor every individual, driver, or child operating them once they leave our facility.
We take full responsibility for product integrity; we rely on our owners, parents, and fleet operators to ensure responsible and supervised operation on the ground.
1. Built-In Engineering & Manufacturing Standards
Every vehicle and power system undergoes thorough assembly and pre-delivery testing to safeguard operators, passengers, and charging infrastructure:
- Smart Lithium Protection: Every battery system features integrated Battery Management Systems (BMS) to protect against overcharging, thermal runaway, short circuits, and deep discharge.
- Electrical Safeguards: Smart charging equipment utilizes thermal cut-offs and isolated grounding to prevent overheating during home or commercial wall charging.
- Structural & Braking Integrity: Built on high-strength chassis frames with hydraulic disc braking systems designed for controlled, responsive stopping under full load.
- Visibility Features: Standard LED illumination, reflectors, and signal packages ensure high visibility in residential estates and urban areas.
2. Responsible Operation & Parental Rules
Electric mobility devices feature instant motor torque and immediate acceleration. Owners and caretakers are required to enforce strict operating parameters:
- Supervision & Underage Operation: Minors and young children must never operate motorized electric vehicles, high-speed scooters, or golf carts without proper adult supervision and adherence to local estate or road age guidelines.
- Key & Access Control: Always remove ignition keys and secure wireless key fobs when vehicles are parked or unattended to prevent unauthorized use by children.
- Passenger & Payload Limits: Never exceed the vehicle’s design capacity or seating limit. Overloading compromises vehicle center-of-gravity, stability, and brake efficiency.
- Safety Equipment: Riders of e-bikes, scooters, and open-air mobility units should always wear protective helmets and suitable footwear.
3. Safe Charging & Maintenance Protocols
To maintain long-term product safety and electrical health:
- Direct Outlet Connection: Plug chargers directly into properly grounded wall outlets. Do not use unrated extension cords, lightweight multi-adapters, or damaged power points.
- Ventilated Areas: Charge vehicles only in dry, well-ventilated spaces away from flammable materials or tight enclosed areas.
- Pre-Trip Checks: Inspect tire inflation, brake levers/pedals, and charger cables regularly before operation.
4. Terms of Use & Liability Disclaimer
- Operator Responsibility: Ironbridge Trading (Pty) Ltd trading as GR8-EV assumes no liability for injury, damage, or loss resulting from reckless operation, improper maintenance, failure to follow age guidelines, or unauthorized vehicle modifications.
- Parental & Caregiver Obligation: Parents, legal guardians, and vehicle owners accept full responsibility for supervising minors and ensuring products are stored safely out of reach of unauthorized users.
